Ouya The Open Source Console

Kickstarter projects amaze me more and more with each new success story!

The latest one is Ouya, the Open Source Gaming Console. This project has raised $1,972,480 as of this writing and still has 29 days to go!

The whole idea behind the project is to break out of Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox’s walled gardens and make a gaming console designed to mod/hack/program. This is a great tie in, and I hope will encourage many young gamers into getting into coding and developing. The console is a bit more powerful than your average cell phone, and will be running a modification of the Android operating system. The console will have it’s own marketplace, and part of the stipulation for submission is that part of your game must be free to play. This will hopefully discourage major piracy concerns, as everything has to be at least a little bit free anyways. The system could definitely run into trouble if pirates immediately start stealling others’ content (such as emulation of xbox/playstation games) which already happens to a small extent on android phones. These issues will be interesting to see as the console develops, I really hope that this becomes a success!

What is a Higgs Boson?

Welcome to the Incite Promo Blog.

I’m going to be writing about a lot of different things, and will mainly stick to Marketing, Business, Science, and Technology. I find each of these topics fascinating, and I hope that you do too!

Here I’ve stumbled across a great video, and a great start to the Incite Promo Blog. A video describing what the heck is the deal with the higgs boson.

And it looks like they’ve found it! http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/4/3136527/higgs-boson-discovery-cern-announcement Amazing News for Particle Physics
